TEACHING BY DOING
Not only am I able to observe your modus operandi and offer relevant advice in the field; just as importantly, you are able to observe how I anticipate and 'work' events; how my movements allow me to maintain the trajectory I need to best interpret the scenes unfolding before me and how I engage on the street. Seeing and understanding how to move is the Holy Grail when it comes to street photography, (which is the foundation for so much documentary work). It is a revelation to behold and yet it is an aspect of theory and practice which is rarely mentioned or illustrated in a teaching format because it is something that is poorly understood by so many, including working professionals.

CAN I TRAVEL WITH A FRIEND ?
Of course you can! Most destinations allow for two participants to accompany me, so if this is something you feel more comfortable sharing with a friend or colleague then that's absolutely fine. It works out up to 30% cheaper for you both this way too because you share the fees.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ?
Camaraderie, revelations and a quantum leap in confidence, guaranteed! Important to remember is that these trips are for genuine field-work. Nothing is staged or predetermined for you. Our days are spent in the field, whatever this may entail but most often walking the streets, exploring locales, courting serendipity and observing life unfold. Evenings come early in the tropics and allow for conversation and discussions over fine local cuisine. Our final day focuses on the editing process and sharing projected work. This gives us a chance to discuss what we did well, and what slipped away from us. You will have access to my unedited work and be able to see my own process and self-critique.
WHAT DO I TAKE AWAY WITH ME FROM THIS TRIP ?
In addition to the priceless experiences that await, the mysteries that will unravel before your eyes and the friendships forged along the way, you will receive a fine art print of an image of your choosing from my final edit of photographs made during our time together, signed with a personal dedication and valued at € 590. What makes this print exceptional is that YOU WERE THERE at the moment it was taken! And of course, any images of you working in the field that I may happen to take, you take away with you too, for your own personal use.
