One has to be open to the world and able to court serendipity when a window opens; in this manner we have a say in our own fate. Imagine my joy when I heard a gathering of novice monks walking through the Zoological Gardens one afternoon; I watched from a distance, anticipating their movements and staying ahead of them; waiting and praying for a moment which I dared not imagine. And then it happened. I moved in quickly to photograph before they could register my presence; before the inevitable ripples of my arrival fractured the scene.
