New Year in the Diois with her snow-capped mountains marks the beginning of the TwoSnakeStudio's French metamorphosis after a period of almost one and a half years cocooned away in Thai-stamped boxes; accidental, stow-away jing-joks, flattened and preserved under cardboard folds, testimony to the undisturbed hibernation of their contents.  Born of a Bangkok, Chinatown warehouse in 2011, with a second incarnation in Thailand's Northern capital of Chiang Mai between 2014 and 2016, the Studio's latest incarnation morphs behind this Louis XIII portal in the Episcopal centre of Die.  Skeletal remains. TwoSnakeStudio. Die. Down below, in its cave, a sweet, serendipitous moment for me today; a bird skeleton, naked of wing, stares up at me from its resting place in the dust, mirroring the groundbreaking illustration of 16th century French naturalist and pioneer of comparative anatomy, Pierre Belon, that has graced my business card for the past several years.
